City of Coalinga ADA Transition Plan (Updated September 2014)

This Transition Plan focuses and describes the needs within the community for curb ramps and other pedestrian facilities and a process to implement the improvements over time to provide a system of curb ramps, sidewalks, and other pedestrian facilities to comply with the law. The draft ADA Transition Plan is intended to describe the need, plan improvements and create safe and useable pedestrian facilities for each and every member within the community, and assure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations and standards. A Transition Plan must provide a schedule for such curb ramp installation, in addition to other necessary improvements to provide access to those citizens with disabilities. As part of this plan, the City Council will be budgeting approximatly $100,000.00 every other fiscal year to implement this plan. This will include construction of new curb ramps, curb, gutter and sidewalks.
