The Coalinga Community Sports Complex
The City of Coalinga on August 20, 2009 reacquired the Coalinga Youth Sports Complex on Cambridge Avenue from the Coalinga-Huron Parks and Recreation District. The City of Coalinga has the goal to complete the Sports Complex within five (5) years in order to provide adequate recreational opportunities for the citizens of Coalinga. The site in which the Sports Complex will be built has been underutilized for several years and soon will be developed into a state of the art recreational facility.
The sports complex is expected to provide the following recreational opportunities:
- Softball and Hardball Fields
- Amphitheater
- Soccer Fields
- Dog park
- BMX track
- Golf driving range with putting green
- Restroom Facilities
- Tot Lots and Splash Pad
- Several Shade Structures for picnicking and barbequing
It is the City’s intention to immediately begin construction of Phase 1 which is detailed in the City’s Strategic Construction Plan. Once Phase 1 is completed the City of Coalinga would like to move forward with completing the remainder of the sports park master plan and begin construction of remaining phases once the master plan has been approved by the Citizens and City Council.
