shelter

On July 1, 2019, Gimme Love will take over animal shelter located at 150 W. Elm Avenue and will be responsible for the operations and services for the City of Coalinga. Gimme Love is a non-profit organization operated by George and Lori Anderson who are both long time Coalinga residents.

The shelter is currently closed for renovations and will not be taking in any animals, unless those animals are deemed vicious or the animal need to be quarantined. During this transition, the Coalinga Police Department will still respond to vicious animals, deceased animals in the roadway as well as all dog bites.

Once Gimme Love is opened they will be responsible for the animal shelter, along with the cleaning and maintenance of the shelter. They will also provide care and some veterinary services for the animals in the shelter. Gimme Love plans on having shot and adaption clinics in the near future once they are settled in. Gimme Love will respond to animal complaints during the day when staffing permits. The police department will be responsible for all dog bite reporting and will respond with Gimme Love to all vicious animal complaints.

Gimme Love’s office hours will be Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Their office phone number is (831) 385-7841.
