The support services division of the Coalinga Police Department
consists of investigations, communications, records,
property and evidence, and information technology. The support
services commander oversees all these areas and reports to the
Chief of Police.
The police detective reports to the Support Services Commander
and investigates major felony investigations and other crimes.
The police detective conducts follow-up investigation for patrol
officers on complex or time consuming investigations.
The communications division is composed of five public safety
dispatchers who dispatch for both police and fire services in
the city.
The school resource officer provides police services for the pre-school and
kindergarten classes, the four primary schools, the middle school, and the
Coalinga High School.
The Property and Evidence Technician works in the property and evidence room
of the Coalinga Police Department. This person also collects evidence and
processes evidence at crime scenes.
The information technology division of the police department administers all the
computer technology of the police department including computers, mobile data
terminals, and video units.
