The City of Coalinga is seeking applicants to establish an employment list for the position of Correctional Sergeant at Claremont Custody Center ($3,571.03/mo.-$4,518.50/mo.) This entry-level supervisory position is under the direct supervision of the Correctional Lieutenant. Successful applicants must meet the minimum qualifications; pass a Written Examination and Oral Board Interview, each with a minimum score of 70% or above. Eligibility List based on: 50% Written Examination and 50% Oral Board Interview.
Minimum qualifications: Completion of two or more years service as a Correctional Officer; prior completion of California Board of Corrections Basic (C.O.R.E.) course, and Firearms and Powers of Arrest training course as specified in Section 832 (P.O.S.T.); Possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent. Possess an appropriate CA Drivers License within ten (10) days of employment. Must pass background investigation, psychological and physical examination with drug screen; must be 21-years of age, U.S. citizen or legal resident alien.
