Drought Charges
For those unfamiliar with drought charges, you may have noticed an extra line item on your bill indicating an additional charge. This was due to you exceeding parameters on conservation requirements. These charges were enacted on July 1, 2021 and were in effect for the consumption months of July, August, and September. As of December 2, 2021, these charges were rescinded as per Resolution No. 4055.
Refunds
The recantation of the charges is being handled in two ways. If you paid your drought charge for any given month you have until 7:00 AM on January 3rd to request in writing a refund. These requests can either be submitted in person at City Hall or emailed to info@coalinga.com. If the deadline is missed, the refunds will be treated as credits to your bill, and normal charges will resume once your bill amount has exceeded your credit.
